The 2019 KidneyX Summit introduced new voices and perspectives to the kidney space and seeks to improve collaboration and communication across the nephrology community.
This event served as a forum to bring insights from a variety of fields outside of the traditional nephrology community and to encourage investment partnerships for innovative solutions
to improve how kidney diseases are prevented, diagnosed, and treated.
The summit included panel discussions with patients, innovators, and presentations from industry leaders and government representatives from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the HHS Office of the Chief Technology Officer, the Food and Drug Administration, and the National Institutes of Health.
Additionally, winners of KidneyX's inaugural prize competition, Redesign Dialysis Phase I, which asked innovators to create designs of possible solutions or solution components that can replicate normal kidney functions
and improve patient quality of life— provided feature presentations on their winning submissions.
Together—through KidneyX—we plan to accelerate the pace of innovation in the development of disruptive approaches to kidney care and the development of new medical products, leading to solutions that will improve the lives of
the millions of people worldwide affected by kidney diseases. We hope you will consider joining us in this effort.
